Birthday in Bahrain
First and foremost, I know I haven’t posted anything for a while! Things have been crazy and I wish I could tell you more about it but not in this post, soon though 🙂
I have been in Bahrain this week, racing! It was my first time in that part of the world and if I am being honest, the weather was the best part of it. To be fair, the 30 min bus drive from the hotel to the racetrack was all I saw of Bahrain but it wasn’t as big of a culture shock as Chennai was, when I went there last February. I didn’t go out on my own though, safty first!
The track was amazing! I have only seen it on TV when watching Formula 1 so that was a cool experience.
On the last day after we packet up everything, some of the guys stayed behind to watch the WEC race but I could not be bothered. You know the feeling when you get home from a club and lay down in bed, it is completely silence but you can still here the bass going? That’s how I felt, 7 days of cars driving around the track and even when I tried to sleep I could hear the engines in my head! So me and some of the other guys decided to go back to the hotel and jump in the pool. It was 30 degrees warm and we got beers delivered to the pool side. Awesome way to spend your birthday. Usually I am out racing when it’s my birthday so I never really get to celebrate like old days. Luckily some of my family came down 2 weeks ago to celebrate me, gift, drinks and a lot of food! So it wasn’t to bad not spending the actually day without my family. If I am being honest with you, I actually forgot it was my birthday. I was convinced it was the day after until my dad called me up an insisted that it was that day. Working the hours we do, travelling around, forgetting your birthday can happen to the best of us 😉 Anywhooo! My birthday was lovely and I am now back in cold England and already looking forward to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 2 weeks.
Pictures are from Bahrain and some from when my family was here.
Keep smilling x
